Besides confirming your selection, preparing your Learning Agreement (exchange students), and filling your visa application (if you are Tunisian), you should take into account the following in your mobility preparation:

Travel tickets and insurance

Université de Nantes will book your travel tickets (a return ticket), as well as the insurance covering your mobility period as soon as you obtain your visa. Any self-purchased tickets will not be reimbursed, so do not proceed to any travel reservations. Université de Nantes will contact you for further information concerning the travel tickets and your insurance.

Financial preparation

The first monthly payment of your grant will be paid only after a couple of weeks of your arrival. You should prepare a certain amount of money (approximately at least 600 €) in order to cover the costs of the installation in your host country:
  • first month's rent
  • bail bond
  • transport card
  • food costs
  • etc.

Preparing useful documents

You should also prepare a certain number of documents to bring with you to the host country, such as:
  • passport valid for the entire duration of your mobility
  • diplomas
  • Grantholder agreement: fill in and sign two copies of the grantholder agreement and send it by scan to erasmus.mundus@univ-nantes.fr. You will have to hand in the two original copies to your E-GOV-TN coordinator upon arrival
  • for exchange students: certificate of registration to your home university for the year of mobility (2016-2017) + learning agreement
  • language certificates
  • identity photos
  • other documents you consider useful
  • the certified translations of these documents
Having these documents prepared might make it easier to complete the administrative steps in the host university.

Opening a European bank account

Please note that you must also have a European bank account in order to receive your grant. If you do not have one, you must open a European bank account as soon as you arrive to your host country. You might want to get informed by your coordinator about your different options already before starting your mobility.
